Terms of use

1. What Boxes is

Boxes is an iPhone, iPad and Mac app for listing what is in your boxes, bags and crates: you add things by typing, voice or photo, print a label with a QR code, and later search the archive.

2. Your data

You save data on your own device. The app has no accounts and does not send your data to a server. iCloud sync (free, and you can switch it off in Settings) copies your data to your own private iCloud. The privacy policy describes the details.

3. Speech recognition and suggestions

Dictation and splitting text into items can make mistakes, so you check the list on the confirmation screen before things are added to a box. The app adds nothing without your confirmation.

4. Free version and purchase

For free you get one project (archived ones included) and 10 boxes outside projects. A one-time in-app purchase removes the limits; there is no subscription and there are no ads. Payment, refunds and billing are handled by Apple under App Store rules. You can restore the purchase in the app.

5. Permitted use

You may use the app for your own, non-commercial purposes. You may not modify it, reverse engineer its code or use it in a way that disrupts its operation.

6. No warranty and liability

The app is provided as is. We do our best to make it work correctly, but we are not responsible for data loss (for example after deleting the app or a device failure) or for the consequences of a lost box. QR labels help you find a box, but they do not replace copies of important documents.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its name and its visual design belong to the developer.

8. Changes to the terms

The terms may change along with the app. The current version is always available in Settings and on this page.
