Frequently asked questions

How do I create my first protocol?

Tap Add a property, enter the address and the landlord's name, and save: a starter template with rooms, meters and keys is created. Then tap + on the main screen, choose the property, enter the tenant and walk through the steps. At the end, both parties sign on the screen.

Is a signature drawn on the screen legally valid?

It is not a qualified electronic signature, and the app does not verify who signs. Whether a signed protocol is accepted as evidence depends on the law of your country and on a court or the parties. The app is not legal advice; if a protocol matters, ask a lawyer whether the template fits your agreement.

Can I edit a signed protocol?

No. After signing, the protocol is read-only so the record stays consistent. Changes in the condition of the property go into a new return protocol, created from the handover. You can delete a protocol, but not edit it.

What is free, and what needs Pro?

The first two signed protocols are free. After that, a one-time Stan Lokalu Pro purchase unlocks unlimited protocols and iCloud sync. There is no subscription. Restore it on a new phone with Restore purchases (More → Unlock Pro).

How does iCloud sync work?

It is part of Pro. Turn it on in More → iCloud sync and restart the app. Properties, protocols, signatures and photos then sync through your own private iCloud, so we have no access to them. Photos take up iCloud storage (about 10 MB for a protocol with 20 photos), and they may need a moment to arrive on the other device.

Where is my data, and what if I change phones?

On your device, and in your iCloud if you use sync. A device backup moves it to a new phone. Deleting the app deletes the data stored on that device, so keep the PDFs you have sent.

How do I send the PDF?

After signing, tap Share PDF and choose Mail, AirDrop, Messages, Files or another app. The PDF is created on your phone and goes only where you send it.

What data does the app collect?

Your protocols stay on your device or in your iCloud. The app sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to Google Firebase, never protocol contents, names, photos or signatures. Details are in the privacy policy.
